Damien Somé is the founder of Afrik Eveil, which he initiated in 2010 during his university studies in Taipei. As founder, he has retained an advisory role while passing on the executive leadership to a team on-the-ground in Burkina Faso.
Damien is based in Geneva where he works in the international cooperation sector.
He holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and a bachelor’s in business administration from Tamkang University, Taipei. He speaks fluently three international languages: French, English, and Mandarin.
Damien worked as a Research Fellow at the Africa Progress Panel, chaired by the late former UN Secretary-general Kofi Annan, where he contributed to Panel’s research and advocacy in the areas of energy, climate, agriculture, fisheries, and extractive industries.

Ebenezer Kumi’s favorite word is “strive”; and that is what he help SME’s in Africa do: to strive for growth and sustainability. He believe businesses have the greatest potential to offer decent work and reduce poverty in Africa, and devotes his time to designing creative and strategic business advisory services to impact-focused firms in Africa. Ebenezer currently works as the National Focal Point for SEED in Ghana, coordinating and advising eco-inclusive enterprises.

Benjamin holds a Master degree in Management and Strategy from Gustave Eiffel Business School, PhD in Management Sciences, Entrepreneurship and Strategy option from the University of Paris East-Creteil.
Formerly Administrative, Financial and Accounting Director, he currently works as a lecturer in Management and Strategy at Paris Est Créteil University. He is also a consultant in entrepreneurship and SME development for many companies and entrepreneurs interested in the West African and French context.

Métouolé Méda Y. Janvier is an expert in green economy and in the development of green and inclusive businesses and value chains. He combines academic and technical knowledge to businesses in various forms.
He research and teaches in universities and other academic institutions in Burkina Faso. Janvier holds a PhD in applied agricultural economics and policy with specialization in natural resources and environment from the University of Ghana. He also holds a Master in Industrial, Rural and Environmental Economics from the University Ouaga II, under the New Interuniversity Post-graduate Programme (NPTCI) in Economics.

Prosper holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from National Chengchi University, Taiwan, specialized in International Business and Finance Management.
Prosper relocated back to his home country, Burkina Faso, after his studies and currently works as an International Market Access Specialist for a Taiwan-based company.
He is fluent in French and English and has a working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese.

Aris holds a Master degree in Responsible Citizen Communication, Asset and Sustainable development from the University of Cote d’Azur in France. He works actually for a French service dedicated to geology.

Diada helps entrepreneurs and businesses fine tune their business models, craft winning marketing strategies focused on customers and markets, and stay financially profitable. He’s been active in the African start-up ecosystem for nearly a decade, both as founder, coach and consultant to other businesses.

Désiré Dabiré lives in Switzerland and is member of the Afrik Eveil Foundation since 2016.
A graduate of the Universities of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, Geneva and Fribourg in Switzerland, he holds a Master's degree in Law (Judicial Law), a DEA in International Law and a Master in Law (Economics and contracts). Désiré is legal councel for more than 5 years in a swiss limited company working in renewable energy and energy services, with more than 2’000 employees and thousands of customers in different languages zones (mainly French and German).

Philippe KABORE, PhD candidate in Economics in the joint program of Ottawa University and Carleton University. He developed strong skills in economic research, data analysis, project management, teamwork, and communication through his various working experience (teaching assistant, research assistant, and project adviser). His working experiences in both North America and Africa environment are an asset for more efficiency. He also earned a Master degree in International Development and Project Analysis from CERDI (Université de Clermont-Ferrand 1). Fluent in both French and English.
Mr. Jean Jacques Kronneberg is of French, Swiss and Cameroonian nationality. He currently runs a Foundation for University Housing.
He studied Agriculture, and later Hotel Management and Finance and obtained a degree in Business Administration. After a career in international retail and luxury hospitality, he returned to school to pursue a post-graduate degree in the Management of non-profit organizations.
Since 2008, he has been the Director of the Foundation for an International University Residence. He has also launched two companies in the signage and coffee trade.
